In this episode, I talk about the stack of cards I picked up at a card show. Watch as I walk you through each card one at a time. I picked up one Frank Thomas card I didn’t already have and a variety of excellent baseball cards.
Correction in Dialogue: At 4:36, the card depicted is actually from 1996 SP Baseball Heroes, not 1995.

I see that a lot of people purposefully add duplicates to their collection. Initially, I thought it was for investment or trading purposes, but it seems like a lot of people just like having more than just one. To each his/her own, obviously, but I always thought it made more sense to put that money (even if it’s just a few cents) toward a card I didn’t have in my collection already. What am I missing?! (Some cool ’90s stuff, btw – thanks for sharing!)
Thanks, Brian. Sometimes, especially at the right price, acquiring doubles can be a fun thing to do. To say you paid some trivial amount for a card you once paid an ambitious amount can make for entertaining dialogue with others. But like you said, to each his/her own. There’s no wrong way to collect. Thanks for visiting and commenting. 🙂
