The Emmitt Smith 1988 Florida Burger King card was released in a 16-card set produced by McDag Productions and sponsored by Burger King that features football players who played at the University of Florida at that time. It’s also considered a police/safety release due to the Tip from the Gators statements on card backs. Cards from the official release contain the Burger King logo on the top right corner of card fronts and backs.

The Emmitt Smith is the cornerstone of the set and has been illegally reprinted. What this means is that some entity produced reprints without consent from McDag Productions, which qualifies them as fakes (counterfeits). Fakes can be distinguished from authentic examples in that they don’t have the Burger King logo printed on them, front or back.

For collectors looking to acquire the Emmitt Smith 1988 Florida Burger King card, they’re strongly encouraged to buy it with the full set, or as a single graded by a reputable grading company. Either way, be sure the card contains the Burger King logo.

In Summary:

  • Authentic examples contain the Burger King logo
  • Fake examples don’t contain the Burger King logo
