Big 2000s Baseball Cards that Sold Between July and August of 2024

Featured here are four 1/1 rookie cards from the 2000s that sold between July and August of 2024. The top two are incredibly important cards, and I think the Justin Verlander 2006 Topps Chrome Superfractor is his absolute best card, period. When I discovered the listing, I discussed it with a friend and he and I tossed around estimated end prices. While he was closer than I was, we we both way off. I expected this card to perform extremely well, but I had no idea it would go into the $20k+ mark. It’s just so incredible to see a card like this. As for the Felix Hernandez, it’s a top shelf rookie card of one of the game’s greatest pitchers. While it didn’t bring nearly the attention as the Verlander, I think the $2500+ end price is significant. It’s awesome to chronicle these two magnificent specimens here. This is just really great stuff.

The following two cards, while not at the same level as the above two cards, are important for other reasons. Ryan Zimmerman was one of the earliest stars to play with the Washington Nationals, which became a team when the Montreal Expos moved to Washington D.C. in 2005. The Rich Hill 2006 Topps Platinum is featured because it fits with the theme of era-specific rookie cards featured here. Hill had a 19-year career and while he’s not Hall of Fame quality, he deserves some attention.
