On April 8, 2023, Auburn University unveiled a statue of Frank Thomas to commemorate his success as a college and professional athlete.1 Thomas was part of Auburn’s roster in 1986 as a tight end on its football team but moved to its baseball team from 1987-89 and then went on to become one of the most feared hitters in the major leagues for the following 19 years.
Among his many professional accolades in his professional career, Thomas compiled 521 home runs and a career AVG above .300. He collected AL MVP awards in 1993 and 1994 and was on pace to get a threequel in 1995 had it not been for the Strike.2
Frank Thomas is one of the most humble people and talented athletes. Just as he did during his Hall of Fame speech, he thanked people who helped him along the way.
