2012 Topps Update Golden Debut Autographs are incredibly tough cards to pull. Since they were inserted into packs of a base Topps release, insertion ratios were far between. The base variety of these Golden Debut Autographs were inserted into packs at a rate of 1:915 hobby packs.
The set roster consists of talent ranging from stars to the forgotten. Notables players include Anthony Rizzo, Paul Goldschmidt, Trevor Bauer, and Yu Darvish.
2012 Topps Update Golden Debut Autographs come in two different versions: Base and Gold. The Gold parallels contain print runs to just 10. While no insertion ratio is stated for the Gold parallels, if the base examples were inserted into packs at a rate of 1:915, we can only assume the stratosphere for the Gold parallels. Needless to say, the Gold parallels are incredibly tough to find even in the online market.
The Base variety contain flat color images while the Gold parallels feature a sparkled orange background. Both versions contain sticker autographs. The Gold parallels don’t scan well so I took a pic of the depicted card to capture the vibrant sparkles. They really are beautiful cards but I would never attempt to pull one. They are unicorns that nobody talks about.
