Shown here are both of the Albert Pujols 2006 Finest White Framed parallels. I wanted to chronicle them here to give you an idea of what each of these cards looks like side by side. It’s pretty straight forward; one’s a refractor, the other is an x-fractor. Finest did the White Framed thing again the following two years, but the concept hasn’t been touched since. All White Framed parallels from 2006 to 2008 are 1/1s, but 2006 was the only year that brought us two separate White Framed parallels from the same release. If you can swing it financially, adding an example of either of these of any player is an excellent addition to the collection.
It’s nice to see auctions of these cards because often times cards like these are listed with super high BINs only to go unsold for years on end. Both of these Albert Pujols 2006 Finest White Framed 1/1s sold recently and closed for just north of $1000 each. I can only imagine the zeal of sellers who would rather list them with impossibly high BINs. Since Albert Pujols is one of just four players to hit 700 home runs, the likelihood is high that cards like these would be held hostage. Lucky for us, they were both listed auction style, which allowed the market to decide their values.

Ironically, I used to own both of these cards……one of my bigger regrets letting them go. Still have 84 2006 Topps Finest Refractor and XFractor 1/1’s
Hi Bert,
Thanks for the comment. Even without these two Pujols cards, with 84 different 2006 Finest 1/1s, I think you’re still winning.
These cards have been my number one pursuit since 2006, I find their design very unique and aesthetically pleasing. Had 92 at one point but sold off the two Pujols, Jeter, Wright, Helton, Posada, Wainwright, and Cruz. Always looking for more.
It’s interesting to read talk of wanting to add more after a sentences about selling off eight of them.
I found another set that I was interested in collecting and the deal that I have with myself is that I only use the funds generated by selling cards to purchase cards. Keeps me somewhat honest financially. Anyways, these cards were an easy and fast sell over the course of two months and then I had my “oh no, what have I done” moment and I tried to get them back to no avail. I bid $800 on that last Pujols a couple of months ago thinking I had it but was outbid. My 2006 1/1’s are on Freedom Cardboard if you want to take a look….I know that you are over there sometimes.
I admire your willingness to part with things you care about. I struggle with this in card collecting. Of the few times I’ve done it, I’ve wished I didn’t. But there are always other cards. Thanks for the comments.
