Depending on who you ask this set is titled, 2001 Playoff Armour Stars Hot Dog Trivia, or some variation thereof but I just call it 2001 Armour Stars. This 7-card set was issued through an Armour Stars redemption program and could be exchanged for the following:
- Completed mail-in certificate

- $1.50 for shipping and handling

Armour Stars redemption certificates were issued as coupons in the weekly stack of junk mail we all get. The paper quality is as you’d expect with this sort of advertisement. I found this Armour Stars redemption certificate back in August of 2013 and was surprised it was still intact.

The depicted signed home plate was issued as a corporate sales incentive. These were given out to sales reps who had the biggest growth in sales from their previous years. It’s assumed that no more than 12 of these were made.

Major sponsorship and marketing campaign for ConAgra / Armour Hot Dogs. I have the autographed home plate. This is the first time I’ve ever seen it discussed or pictured on the internet. I got it from a Con Agra sales rep. Mine looks nicer… clean home plate. I would be surprised if I had 1 of 12 made. I also acquired (7) autographed baseballs (same players as on home plate) in a nice wood / glass case. All official MLB balls except Bonds, his signature on a cheap Armour logo ball. I also have another Con Agra shadow box with pitching rubber signed by Roger Clemens and two Armour baseball bats signed by Ken Griffey Jr and Sammy Sosa….. all this from Con Agra / Armour hot dog sales rep.
That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing.
