Two Derek Jeter 1998 Score Rookie Traded 1/1s
1998 Score Rookie Traded #PP6 Showcase Series Artist’s Proof 1 of 1’s were printed in quantities of 2 copies each, which makes them, well, not 1 of 1’s. You’re probably thinking, “What the heck!?” Yea, we’ll address that in just a sec.
1998 Score Rookie Traded #PP6 Showcase Series Artist’s Proof 1 of 1’s were randomly inserted in Hobby packs of 1998 Score Rookie Traded at an unknown rate and are too scarce to price. However, if you keep an eye on the market, you’ll occasionally see appearances and can gauge market values based on closing sale numbers. They are as rare as they are beautiful.
As with many other 1/1 releases from the same era, companies would often produce backup copies in an effort to better serve customers in the event one calls to complain about pulling a damaged example of one of these 1/1s. Backups allow companies to send out replacements. From a customer service prospective, it makes sense.
Since Score was under the Pinnacle umbrella, when Pinnacle went under, backup copies made their way to the secondary market, which is why you see these two unique Derek Jeter 1998 Score Rookie Traded #PP6 Showcase Series Artist’s Proof 1 of 1’s side-by-side. One was the pack-issued example, while the other was the backup copy. In appearance, they’re identical so there’s no distinguishable way to tell them apart. They are, in essence, two copies of the exact same card.

There are two known copies of the Griffey from that series too! MAGICPAPA had the original copy and years later the 2nd copy showed up on eBay. He was none too happy!
Yep! As is the case with every card in the set.
