As a collector with only 7 years of hobby experience at the time of this product’s release, I thought I’d never pull one of these. To me, cards from the 1995 Leaf Heading for the Hall set were as mythical as some of my favorite sets from the year prior. I remember looking at listings in price guides at the time and thinking how incredible it would be to pull any card from this elusive set. The set consists of just 8 cards and features some of the then most premier talent. These cards were randomly inserted into packs of 1995 Leaf S2 Hobby.
I’ve opened a lot of 1995 Leaf Baseball and never pulled any of these. It wasn’t until 2003 that I secured the Frank Thomas from this set. I was at a local hobby shop and found this card sitting in the $1 bin. I about lost it with excitement. You know the type – shaking with thoughts of unspoken thievery knowing you’re about to pay pennies for something that to you is worth so much more. Yea, this was the rich feeling I experienced at that very moment.
