2000 Crown Royale Cramer’s Choice Premiums Baseball Cards

Set Information:

2000 Crown Royale Cramer’s Choice Premiums is an oversized 10-card set featuring some of the biggest names of the era. These jumbo cards were inserted into boxes of 2000 Crown Royale. Every box contains one but the parallels were randomly inserted. The set is quite beautiful with base cards featuring a holofoil finish and parallels a varied finish depending on the parallel. All parallels contain printed serial numbers below the player names on the card fronts. The Purple parallels are 1/1s and contain an additional hand serial numbered statement on the backs. The parallels are quite rare and given the small print runs, they often carry strong demand when they surface in the secondary market.

For obvious reasons, this set poses serious challenges for player collectors. However, given the color palette and player roster, a nice plan B is to collect one of each of the parallels of any player to see them all together. A partial set without the Purple 1/1 is still considered by many to be a huge victory and there are occasional opportunities to grab parallels on the secondary market. However, they aren’t cheap so be prepared to spend some serious cash on these cards. While market availability is already very slim, it’s likely to continue as the set ages, and as a result these cards are equally likely to become more valuable.

A Message for Player Collectors:

There are 1210 total cards printed across the various parallel runs. That said, while I don’t think opportunities to find these cards will ever completely dry up, I do expect values to increase with time. Don’t quote me on this; it’s just what happens as stuff ages and collectors get down to the details of their Most Wanted checklists. To be clearer, as this set ages, it’s likely to get rarer to a degree and as such also likely to get more expensive. While this is obviously the case with the Purple 1/1s, the Gold /10s are already incredibly hard to find. Just keep this in mind as you chip away at your collecting goals. It’s also worth mentioning that for one reason or another, a lot of collectors put off, or pass on jumbo cards entirely. A common reason is storage difficulty. In terms of urgency and given the rarity and caliber of this jumbo set, however, it might be wise to move it closer to the front of the line.
