2010 Topps Allen and Ginter was immensely popular when it was released. It came out just a couple weeks after Stephen Strasburg made his Major League debut and due to his success, everyone chased card 401, the Stephen Strasburg 2010 Topps Allen and Ginter Mini. Early sales of this card easily cleared the $400 mark with some fetching much more. The Stephen Strasburg Autographs card was issued as a redemption, and the Codebreakers card was issued through the associated program and is likely a 1/1.
I helped a friend open a few boxes of 2010 Topps Allen and Ginter back in July of 2010 just after Stephen Strasburg got injured and just days before starting this website and we came up short on pulling anything notable.
There are many great parallel and inserts sets in 2010 Topps Allen and Ginter but the base set design may be considered slightly bland to some. However, it’s got a little something for everyone. As a skateboarder, it was nice to get a chance to pull a card of Tony Hawk. What always draws me to this product is its feel of nostalgia. If you like to reminisce about the past, you’ll like 2010 Topps Allen and Ginter.

2010 Topps Allen and Ginter is a 350-card set issued in 6-card packs, 24-pack boxes, and 12-box cases. Cards 301-350 are SPs. The Mini parallel set comes with an additional 51 cards. Mini cards 351-400 were released in rip cards. Card 401 is Stephen Strasburg, and its associated printing plates were never released.
As with other installments of Topps Allen and Ginter, this one featured the Codebreaker program, which was confusing and mysterious to most but some managed to figure it out. The 2010 Topps Allen and Ginter Codebreaker cards parallel cards from the 2010 Topps Allen and Ginter Autographs set. Also, it’s believed that Topps produced just one Codebreaker set making them 1/1s.
Also similar to other Topps Allen and Ginter releases, a ton of non-sport insert sets were issued in the 2010 release, which generally come with mixed reviews by collectors. These insert sets are specifically targeted to collectors who appreciate history, fiction, and nostalgia. For the rest of us, there’s plenty to keep us busy in 2010 Topps Allen and Ginter.
The San Francisco Giants won the World Series in 2010 and two key players from that team have rookie cards in this set. Key RCs: Madison Bumgarner, Buster Posey, Jason Heyward, and Stephen Strasburg.
