CSG Enters the Sports Card Grading Market and Slabs its First Card

Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) has a rich history of grading a variety of collectibles such as comics, coins, stamps, and paper money so it was only logical and a matter of time before it took the leap into the sports card grading market. Enter Certified Sports Guaranty™ (CSG™).

The first card off the line has already been processed (and sold on 3/11/2021 for $98,100). Here it is:

The criticism with the slabs has been that the flips contain too much white space. Given the parent company’s strong reputation, however, I personally think collectors will get over their concerns with the flips pretty quickly. While there are already a few main competitors in the trading card grading market, CSG stems from a company with robust roots in the collectibles grading game so that will likely help ease the transition to market acceptance.
