Derek Jeter
Derek Jeter was a no brainer. Most of us expected him to be the second player in history to be voted in unanimously but some moron voted No. Alas, 396/397 is as close to perfection as you can get and Derek Jeter deserves every last bit of it.
We all know the stats: 20-year career, same team, Shortstop, ROY, 14x All-Star, 5x World Series, 5x Gold Glove, 5x Silver Slugger, WS MVP, AS MVP, 3465 Hits, .310 Career BA, etc., etc., etc.1 Derek Jeter is one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
His hobby fans are incredibly loyal and as it would appear, highly affluent. He’s featured on some of the most valuable baseball cards of the modern era with many closing in the 5 and even 6-figure range.

Larry Walker
Larry Walker is one of those players who’s following is largely specific to the Montreal and Colorado markets. When his eligibility began to take shape in year 10 (2020), I had to re-examine his career accolades and they’re certainly impressive. He collected 5x All-Star, 7x Gold Glove, 3x Silver Slugger, 3x Batting Title, 1x MVP, 2160 Hits, and an impressive .313 Career BA.2 Those are stats with serious influence. Career BAs above 300 are exceedingly rare and his is well above it.
As expected, the market for Larry Walker stuff has heated up significantly over the past few months and likely won’t began to settle back down until later in the year. Regardless, however, his rookie cards were produced in 1990 so there are plenty to go around several times over. I personally recommend his 1990 Leaf card given the significance of the set.
